Take time to write your goals on a sheet of paper and make sure to read and re-read it. This will remind you on what is your purpose in working. Once in a while take a moment to also evaluate your own performance if you are really fitted to the job you are into. Re-examine your goals, pause if there is a need to or move forward when you think you have what it takes to succeed in the given career.

Ongoing education can also enhance your earning potential or this can be a qualifier for a promotion.

Performance Review

Meet with your manager to talk about your performance, this can be done in a weekly or on a monthly basis. If your company does not require Performance Review then you can ask or talk to your manager informally. Your conversations may include your status, goals, progress and challenges. This way you will find out if you are meeting your manager’s standards or exceeding it. This session can also be an avenue for you to talk about your future plans in the company making your manager aware of your endeavors, so he can also assist you in honing your skills needed to perform the job you aspire.

Always be in the lookout to help others in your company. Always build great friendship or relationships because at any point in time they can help you achieve your goals. Your success in guiding others will boost your marketability. This is an enduring process that can help you in your career. Getting along with others

Show that you are interested, enthusiastic, caring, and passionate in your job. When you outwardly show these characteristics then it’s your major career advantage. Oftentimes, average performers with strong people skills last longer than those who are very scientific on their job but could not work well with others. You have to remember that in the workplace it is an open field and normally a team player is always a superstar.

Moderation

Highly successful people are subject to stress, it is because they demand too much from themselves. Learn to know when enough is enough, a famous line from Spice girls that says too much of something is bad enough is a line worth reflecting on.

Constantly, seek balance in your career and personal life. Oftentimes when you are to focus in your job you forget that there are other people around you who hunger for your appreciation and attention. Do not trade your relationship with your spouse and family members for career success alone, for you can have both when you carefully plan your daily activities.

Achievements

Your achievements will help you establish your marketability. So make sure to update your resume every time you hit the top list of the employee ranking.

Choose your Company

Be with the people you admire you can learn good behavior, actions and activities from them. Knowing the right people who can perform a task flawlessly is perfect for you to emulate.

Positive Aura

When you meet someone in the elevator, cafeteria and in the hallway smile and greet them even when you don’t know them. Positive aura is very contagious, and if there is one thing we want others to be inflected of that should be an atmosphere of peace and feeling at home while working.
